The Timing of a Good Gift

Day-of is the hardest mark to hit and the least interesting to nail. Everyone sends day-of. It blends in.

Early is underrated. A card the night before a big presentation lands harder than a congrats afterward. You caught them when they needed it, not when the moment had already passed.

Late is also fine. The thank-you you send a week later, when you've actually had time to sit with how good the dinner was, often reads more genuine than the one fired off in the Uber home.

The only timing that almost never works: the day before. It feels like an alarm went off in your calendar. Either pick early-and-intentional or late-and-warm. Both beat early-and-anxious.
